Kahalu‘u Bay Hope Spot

International marine conservation nonprofit Mission Blue has named Kahaluʻu Bay a Hope Spot and Cindi Punihaole, Director of The Kohala Center’s Kahaluʻu Bay Education Center and Dr. Christine Zalewski, President of Dear Ocean, as the Hope Spot Champions.

The second designated Hope Spot in the state of Hawaiʻi, Kahaluʻu Bay is a wahi pana, a sacred, celebrated, and storied place abundant with cultural and ecological treasures.
