A LONGITUDINAL CROWDSOURCED PHOTO AND VIDEO DATABASE FOR CORAL REEFS

Dear Ocean is compiling a longitudinal photo and video library of at-risk coral reefs by crowdsourcing historical, current, and future footage. Our mission is to preserve and protect the history and future of coral reefs by archiving historical footage to prevent the loss of invaluable visual records; to raise public awareness of reefs and the risks they face; to counter ‘shifting baseline syndrome’ by maintaining historical references of marine environments; and to provide roadmaps for future reef repopulation efforts.
