Coral Colony Temporal Texture Map
The interactive map below contains data points for 28 cauliflower coral (Pocillopora meandrina) and lobe coral (Porites lobata) colonies living in the inner reef of Hanauma Bay. These colonies have been observed and documented individually over time, and the images, numbering in the thousands, were contributed to the Digital Coral Ark by Anke Roberts and Larry Winnik.
Anke Roberts shot approximately 3,000 photos between 2020 and 2023 for the Friends of Hanauma Bay Coral Colony Temporal Texture Study (CCTT). Larry Winnik contributed approximately 1000 images of ten distinct coral colonies that he photographed over time between 2014 and 2019.
The map contains two layers, one with Larry Winnik’s points displayed in orange and the other with Anke Robert’s points displayed in white.
Stay tuned! More maps coming soon…
